Market Review

Mike Reid of Reid+Dean provides a timely update on what is happening in the local residential property market:

“In October 2007 the Eastbourne market collapsed completely, and almost absolutely nothing happened, in terms of enquiries, new property on the market, viewings or sales.  It was only in the New Year that we started to see fresh signs of activity, and while I can’t speak for other firms, in February/March the phones have started ringing again, often as much as they did before the Northern Rock episode.

T
he new activity has been created largely by more property coming to the market, and viewings are becoming quite frequent again.  This has not yet converted into large numbers of sales but the green shoots of activity – not recovery yet – are beginning to come through.

Easter normally marks the beginning of the busiest period in the selling year, when for about the next three months we usually see the greatest number of sales being agreed.  We don’t know if that will happen this year, but if someone is thinking of moving then we suggest that they make the most of the forthcoming opportunity, by marketing their property now, and starting to view the widening range that is becoming available.”

If you are thinking of moving then contacted on 01323 412550 or at our office at 99 South Street, Eastbourne
