Gamesmakers wanted!

September 19, 2012

Preparations for the Eastbourne Half Marathon 2013 are underway, and buoyed by the spectacular growth of the event in the last couple of years Reid & Dean are calling for Gamesmakers to help run one of the town’s most successful events.

The Olympics Gamesmakers were a huge success and maybe some came from Eastbourne.  If that includes you and you enjoyed that experience then would you be interested in helping on Sunday 3 March 2013?  If you weren’t an official Gamesmaker but have been inspired by them, you will be most welcome too. Maybe make up a group of friends to come along.  You just have to be over 18 years old.  Gamesmakers uniforms are not part of the deal, but if you have one then it would be fun to see it!

The Half Marathon is set to break its record entry once again and next year 2000 runners is the target.  Running the event involves a variety of volunteer tasks.  It starts and finishes in Princes Park, and the course is along the seafront to the foot of the Downs, back down the seafront and around Sovereign Harbour before returning to the Park.

Many runners raise money for their chosen charities and on top of this individual sponsorships help to provide several thousand of pounds each year which go to both recognised charities, and local schools, clubs and associations to help with special projects.

If you would like to participate then please contact us.
