Why is this picture important?
When selling a property it is important to understand that in today’s world it is not just business which operates on a global basis, and buyers now come from virtually anywhere. So it is important for an agent to sell not only the property but the town or location in which it is situated, and an eye grabbing picture is one way to start that process.
Because buyers can be so fickle in their choice of location – especially in the second homes market - many will not be concerned whether they move to Bournemouth, Torquay or Eastbourne, they just want to be near the coast or some other feature. So the agent’s first job is not always to persuade someone to buy a property, but often to sell the location itself. That is why this picture and others of the area feature strongly on the new Reid+Dean website.
While it varies from year to year about half of the properties Reid+Dean sell go to buyers from well out of the Eastbourne area. In 2010 53% of their website visitors were based in London and there were hits from 506 other UK towns and cities. There were visitors from a total of 72 other countries including Russia, China and India.
“This is reason we keep working on our web site” reports Mike Reid, ”This is our fifth generation site since we opened the business 12 years ago and the reason for this is to keep ahead in being able to provide the best information to buyers. All our properties include a good selection of photographs, a comprehensive description, fantastic mapping and detailed floor plans. If you are thinking of moving to a completely different area, country or continent then you will want to know what to expect when you turn up for a viewing. We aim to provide that. It also one of the reasons we market through Mayfair Office and use so many property portals.”
